Read the terms below and then enter the competition by creating your product page - choose the Create a Product button on the products page

Competition Goals

The goal of the competition is to generate a number of high quality product submissions which the Innovators intend to turn into successful product sales. Successful submissions will also be great examples for future users and will inspire further innovation.

Timescale & Prizes

Submissions are welcome immediately and will be evaluated in the order that they are received. To be eligible entries must be received by 10th March 2011.

  • The first three Innovators to register and have their product accepted on the site will be rewarded with £100 each. We've already paid out!
  • The three most innovative product submissions as decided by the Judges will be awarded a £100 prize. Judging will be completed by 30th March 2011 and winners will be notified subsequently.
  • The first Innovator to have their product accepted for pre-sale will be awarded a £250 prize.
  • The first Innovator to reach their pre-sales goal and have their product manufactured and shipped will win a new MacBook Air 11" (2010 model).

Entry Criteria

All UK residents over the age of 18 are eligible to win a prize. All categories of products are welcome, as long as the product complies with getitmade's standard terms of use, as stated on the website. The submission must be 100% your own work and you must not infringe anyone else's intellectual property rights.

Product Page

The product page you create should be of a quality appropriate for promoting a product that will be sold to customers. Thus, it is recommended that the page contain:

  • Any details that a customer would need in order to understand the product's benefits
  • Photographic images of a real prototype that looks like the final product or photorealistic images depicting clearly what the product will look like when customers receive it
  • A video demonstrating the product's benefits. Since getitmade relies on pre-selling products through social networking it is recommended that the product innovator personally promotes the product
  • A realistic timescale of production, so that customers will know when to expect the final product

Judges

The competition will be judged by the following people:

  • Dan Black (of Black & Blum)
  • Rob Dobson (of getitmade)
  • Nick Ager (of getitmade)

Changes (including additions and removals) of Judges may be made at any time without notice.
