What is getitmade?

getitmade is a new kind of marketplace where anyone with a product idea can test the market and use social networking to generate pre-sales and get the product made. Using getitmade allows Innovators (designers, inventors, companies and ordinary people) to take their product ideas to the production stage by pre-selling on getitmade to raise the money.

What is getitmade trying to achieve?

We know how frustrating it can be to get a product idea from prototype to production. Our goal is to help innovators test the market for their product and raise the money to get the product made. We'd like to see successful companies being launched off the back of the success they have getting their products made on getitmade.

I have a product idea - what do I do next?

Here's your chance to get it made. Create a Product Page for your product. Publicise it using your social network (other people hitting the site looking at other products can also see your product of course). Get enough people to pre-order your product and the pre-order payments are collected and used to get your product made.

Unlike crowd-sourcing sites you retain the intellectual property to your product - for details of what it costs see below ...

What does it cost?

getitmade charges a 10% service fee on all sales made from the site BUT this is only collected if the product hits its pre-sales goal. So if the product is priced at $50 and the initial run of production is 1000 units then we make $5k. This is a lot less than you would normally pay an internet retailer for selling an established product - and if the product doesn't reach its sales target we don't charge anything at all.

Our goal is to help people get their products made and hopefully start their own successful product business.

Like to be the first to buy new products?

Here's your chance to buy products before they've even been made. Pre-order any products you like. If enough other people like them too, your payment will be taken and your new product will be on your doorstep as soon as it is manufactured.

Know how to help?

If you have a service to offer to innovators, register on the site to start discussing contracts and service offerings with individuals who need your help.
